Entumbane record first win in Dumisani Ndlovu Foundation Schools League

Sports Reporter
ENTUMBANE High School picked up their first win in the four-team Dumisani Ndlovu Foundation Under-15 Schools Football League, edging Milton High 2-1 on Saturday. Desire Muchengwa opened the scoring for Entumbane in the 29th minute before Milton equalised four minutes later through Terrence Mapfumo. Muziwakhe Masuku assured Entumbane of their first win when he struck the second goal in the 58th minute.

Entumbane finished with 10 on the field after Michael Ncube was red carded.

Defending champions, Gifford, failed to make good use of home advantage when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Mtshabezi. Striker Anesu Maretawona gave Gifford the lead before captain Terrence Mangwanda ensured that Mtshabezi returned to Matabeleland South with a point.

Gifford are still at the top of the table with five points, followed by Mtshabezi, who have amassed four points, while Entumbane and Milton are tied on three points.

The four schools’ league will resume action again next term with three rounds of fixtures still to be played. The top two teams will meet in the final that will be played at Entumbane in August in the presence of sponsor Dumisani Ndlovu, a Zimbabwe trained, United Kingdom-based school teacher.
