Popular television drama series, Estate Blues, is set to go on a season break for rebranding.
Created by Admire Maramba, Estate Blues’ first episode was screened on ZTV on December 5, 2005.
Its themes revolve around corruption and family feuds in estate administration.
Due to modern techniques and the new dimension being taken by television productions, the producers saw it fit to revisit the drawing board and rebrand the series, hence the idea of a season-long break.
In an interview, Maramba said they are determined to meet international standards.
“In a few weeks, we are airing the 13th episode of Season 21 which marks the season finale,” he said.
“After that, we will be taking a season break to focus on rebranding. The rebranded series will be known as The Estate and will contain some of the current cast and of course new talent.”
Maramba conceded that they are rebranding due to the stiff competition they are facing. Since the Covid-19-induced lockdown, developments have taken place in the smooth flow of production.
The producer came up with various tactics that ensured that millions of viewers received an episode every week.
In another interview, Marry Tsarwe, who starred as Aunt Lorna Carter, promised fans that the series will be back with improved quality.
“Our fans should expect a much more interesting drama with better locations and improved acting,” she said.
