Sheasham coach Lizwe Sweswe believes the only way they will escape the relegation zone is to collect maximum points in their remaining Castle Lager Premiership matches starting this afternoon against Triangle at Bata.
The construction boys have so far amassed 30 points from 27 matches and are eager to bounce back from Sunday’s 0-1 defeat at CAPS United while Triangle are a point adrift on position 16.
“Every game is now like a cup game. We need maximum points to remain in the league. We are not looking forward to dropping points as that is going to determine our fate,” said Sweswe.
“In order to win a game you have to attack your opponents and we are going to attack which we believe is the best way to defend that will suit our current position.
“Triangle they are a very good team that is capable of having a positive result on any other day but we approach all games with the same mentality which is to win.
“I believe the team has to show character and come on top of the game, we have to fight with all we have as character and fighting goes tooth and nail.
“We urge our supporters to keep on supporting as they have done in the past games. In the recent past games, we have been playing to a good crowd and have been bolstering the confidence of the squad and we are grateful.
“We need to put up a solid performance, preparation is key so we are leaving no stone unturned as we gun for maximum points again. The target is now to win at least 75 percent of our remaining games to see us through,” he said.
In their last five games, Sheasham managed to collect seven points out of a possible 15 with two wins against bottom-placed Cranborne and Bulawayo Chiefs and a draw against Bulawayo giants Highlanders while losing two games to Simba Bhora and CAPS United.
Triangle have managed just five points.
