A jilted Harare man kidnapped his ex-girlfriend during the night and dumped her at an unknown location to give him enough time to propose love to her domestic worker, the Civil Court heard yesterday.
Esnath Samungure claimed George Wakatama was in the habit of coming to her house to verbally and physically abuse her.
Samungure was seeking a protection order against Wakatama whom she accused of breaching her peace.
Wakatama was not in court but was represented by his lawyer.
“He once came to my workplace and kidnapped me and later dumped me at an unknown place so that he could go to my house and make advances on my domestic worker,” she said.
Samungure told magistrate Ms Audrey Tarugarira that Wakatama burnt all her clothes at the height of a misunderstanding.
“He is always threatening to hire thugs to deal with me for no specific reasons. He is also fighting to evict my son from my own house,” said Samungure. She e told the court that Wakatama was failing to understand that their relationship was over.
Ms Tarugarira deferred the matter to July 23 and asked Wakatama’s lawyer to bring her client to court for an inquiry.
