FORMER top policeman, Erasmas Makodza, says he feels honoured after he was conferred with an honorary doctorate in humanity by a Zambian University.
He was honoured by JIAZO Bible College, an online-based institution which recognises community-based influence by individuals.
The graduation was held on Saturday in Victoria Falls, a geographically neutral venue to accommodate the graduates from Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia.
The certificate was presented to him by Professor Isaac Silumbu, on behalf of the university’s Chancellor Professor J Zozi.
“This honorary achievement is an important one since my childhood passion and experience hinged on human capital development, transformation and emancipation,” said Makodza.
“All these are key attributes of my business and community development.
“This honorary achievement is also an indication of my relevance in my community as a responsible citizen and cadre of Zimbabwe.
“It is worth noting that community development, through humanity observance, is the hub upon which all the facets of development are economically, socially, legally and technologically founded.
“All people who have the capacity to develop our country should do so while bearing in mind that enrichment of our humanity base needs a reserved priority.”
Makodza added:
“I feel honoured and I am confident that I deserve it. People who add value must be recognised and honoured.”
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree, a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies and a Diploma in Marketing.
