Ex-Tsholotsho RDC chairperson clocks over two weeks missing

FORMER Tsholotsho Rural District Council chairperson Mr Velaphi Mlingo has been missing for more than two weeks, with his family appealing to members of the public for information that may help locate him.

Mr Mlingo (69), of Matshudula Line in Tsholotsho, was last seen on April 23 and has not been heard from since.
His younger brother, Mr Mthabisi Mlingo, said the family is deeply worried over his disappearance but remains hopeful that he will be found alive and well.

In more than two weeks since he went missing. We have been searching and making inquiries in different places, but there has been no breakthrough so far,” said Mr Mthabisi Mlingo.

He appealed to anyone with information regarding Mr Velaphi Mlingo’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or contact the family.

Mr Velaphi Mlingo is well known in Tsholotsho where he once served as chairperson of the Rural District Council, under the ruling Zanupf party.
Party members and the community have been in desperate search for the former chairperson since word spread that he has not been home.
