THE national broadcaster – the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) – must move with speed in establishing a standalone sports channel, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Mr Nick Mangwana, has said.

In his address during the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services strategic workshop going on here in Vumba, Mr Mangwana said: “The Minister speaks to the need of a dedicated sports channel for ZBC and we should make it a reality.

“ZBC has got a reserved frequency and all they need to do is to uplift and get the license from BAZ to make it happen.

“If it is not happening, then it has to be part of our deliverables for 2026. The money is there.”
