CRICKET fans will get a full dose of high-tempo action as Zimbabwe’s provincial powerhouses shift into T20 mode at Harare Sports Club this morning. The 2025 to 2026 Domestic T20 Competition opens a packed week where every team is eyeing a fast start and every game feels like a chance to land the first punch.

The field is familiar. Eagles, Mountaineers, Rhinos, Southern Rocks and Tuskers have all circled this week as a chance to shape early momentum. The tournament begins with Eagles meeting Tuskers in the morning, then defending champions Rhinos start their title defence against Mega Market Mountaineers in an afternoon match set for 1:45PM. The opening fixture starts at 9:30AM.

Tuskers

Fans can expect morning and afternoon games each day through to Saturday. Thursday has been set aside as a rest day.

The event had been planned for January, but Zimbabwe Cricket moved it forward to sharpen preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India and Sri Lanka will co-host the global event in February, and this early domestic run gives selectors and players a clearer picture of where they stand.

The schedule shake-up means Logan Cup and Pro50 Championship matches that were slotted for December 9 to 14 have been put on hold until new dates are confirmed.

After today’s openers, the tempo stays high. Tomorrow brings Rhinos against Tuskers in the morning and Southern Rocks against Eagles in the afternoon. On Wednesday, Mountaineers take on Southern Rocks in the first match, then Rhinos test themselves against Eagles later in the day.

Thursday carries no fixtures. Action picks up again on Friday as Rhinos meet Southern Rocks in the morning and Tuskers face Mountaineers in the afternoon. The last day on Saturday pits Mountaineers against Eagles before Tuskers close their campaign against Southern Rocks.

Attendance is free for all games and supporters have been urged to fill the stands and enjoy the country’s best players going head to head in the shortest format on the domestic calendar.
