A two-day Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) expo targeting local suppliers is providing a platform for various suppliers to build networks with potential clients ahead of the annual Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in April.

The inaugural Marketers Suppliers Expo (MASXPO) kicked off yesterday in Bulawayo at the City Hall car park and is ending today.

It is being held under the theme: “Grab the opportunity, Breakout!”
Banks, events management firms, car rental firms, auction companies and the media sector, notably Zimpapers, are participating.

Speaking to Business Chronicle yesterday, MAZ head of marketing and operations Mrs Enia Zimunya said it is important for suppliers to forge relationships with potential clients and that the expo is a good opportunity for business leads.

She said the main agenda for hosting the expo is for businesses in Bulawayo to market themselves ahead of ZITF.

“It is important to create healthy business networks because once networks are created they tend last and are beneficial. So, we should always be looking at such opportunities to build networks. We have seen that some of the products on display are critical for business operations,” said Mrs Zimunya.
Business Chronicle observed several suppliers engaged in discussions with various clients.

MAZ is a membership driven body whose mandate is to uplift the marketing profession and has grown over the years to be recognised by both industry and Government. -@NomqheleC
