Eziko Theatre Lab opens

The project is being funded by Victory Siyanqoba Trust.
The main objective behind establishing the Theatre Lab is to provide a platform for established artistes to work with community artistes in reviewing and critiquing of artistic work meant to be socially transformative.
In an interview, Eziko Theatre’s project officer, Tichaona Karuma, said Victory Siyanqoba Trust is a project that has been operating since 2009 at Nkulumane’s Anglican Church and later on relocated to Tshabalala.
“Victory Siyanqoba Trust has been operating since 2009. It has since established a theatre laboratory at Tshabalala’s Indlovu Youth Centre,” said Karuma.
He said theatre and dance groups were expected to take advantage of the laboratory to showcase their works and thereafter they will be advised on the areas they could improve as  part of efforts to perfect their works.
Karuma also said the project theme for this year was Arts Towards Social Relevance and Social Corrections.
