FAITH Christian College (FCC) proudly flipped the page to a new chapter in its story yesterday. In a ceremony held in Tshabalala suburb, the college unveiled not one, but two exciting additions — a gleaming new school site and a 51-seater school bus.

The event buzzed with joy, drawing representatives from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, the FCC family itself and enthusiastic Tshabalala residents. It served as a powerful symbol of the FCC’s unwavering commitment.

The school is not just defying challenges, it is actively building a future that provides accessible, top-tier Christian education for the community.

Mr Milton Maphosa, the visionary director received a thunderous ovation from the crowd. His ambition and dedication to transforming FCC into a beacon of quality Christian education were truly celebrated.

Following the applause, Mr Clive Simango, the Principal of FCC High School, took a heart-warming moment to share a personal anecdote.

“I vividly recall Mr Maphosa’s tireless efforts at the city council. He persevered through countless hurdles, determined to secure a larger space for the school in Tshabalala. His unwavering dedication, despite the challenges, has brought us here today. We stand in our new home, a testament to his passion for providing exceptional education,” he said.

Mr Simango then unveiled the school’s ambitious plans for the Tshabalala site.

“The vision for this location is truly extraordinary. We plan to construct a one-of-a-kind primary boarding school. Imagine a majestic double-storey building with a stunning blue roof, a marvel that will solidify FCC’s position at the forefront of quality education. High-density suburbs often face a significant lack of educational resources, and this new location will undoubtedly bridge that gap. It will provide a nurturing learning environment conveniently located near where many families reside.”

While the District Schools Inspector (DSI), Ms Zanele Muyambo, was unable to attend due to prior commitments, her representative, Ms Farisanani Sibanda, expressed her deepest admiration for FCC’s impactful work in Bulawayo’s educational landscape.

“I truly commend FCC for the remarkable work they are doing. The school’s presence in Tshabalala shatters the misconception that a beautiful and stimulating learning environment requires a low-density location or the city centre. Mr Maphosa and his team have demonstrably proven otherwise. I fervently hope their success inspires others to emulate their vision.”

The new school bus has already borne fruit. A planned educational trip to Lupane has seen its expenses reduced by half, making the enriching experience accessible to a wider range of students.

Mr. Maphisa announced with pride: “The primary boarding school will be ready to welcome its first cohort of students in term one of 2025. Interested parents can begin the enrolment process next term.

“We anticipate completing construction of our new home by the end of this year. Enrolment for the boarding school for next year will commence in the third term. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the city council for granting us this expansive 5-hectare plot, which allows us to realise our vision. We also extend our appreciation to the Tshabalala community for their unwavering support. They have already begun inquiring about enrolment for their children.”

FCC, with its existing schools in the city center encompassing nursery schools, a primary school, and a high school, has a long-standing reputation for excellence. Their core mission is to deliver exceptional education interwoven with strong Christian values.
