SERVITORSHIP Academy in Bulawayo’s Bellevue suburb has reinforced its growing reputation for academic excellence after recording a 100 percent pass rate in the 2025 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) Advanced Level examinations.
The achievement continues a remarkable trend for the relatively young institution, which has consistently produced a perfect A-level pass rate despite being founded only in 2019.
Principal and director Mr Aaron Sibanda, who also runs a sister school in Chivhu, said the results reflected a deliberate blend of academic rigour, faith-based values and close learner supervision.
“The school was conceived through a visionary mandate to deliver rigorous, inclusive and transformative education capable of reshaping Zimbabwe’s human capital,” said Mr Sibanda.
A member of the African Apostolic Church led by Priest Bishop Tawanda Israel Mwazha, Mr Sibanda said the academy draws inspiration from Paul Mwazha’s 1940 vision, which emphasised integrating education and faith in rebuilding Africa.
While the school’s Ordinary Level pass rate has ranged between 70 and 90 percent, its A-level results have remained consistently flawless.
Mr Sibanda attributed the success to his dual role as both principal and classroom teacher, allowing him to closely monitor learner progress and teaching standards.
“This approach has helped us identify exceptional talent early,” he said, citing Manali Vuyelwa Nyoni, a 13-year-old learner who sat for O-level examinations at an unusually young age.
The academy also works with Deputy Minister for Industry and Commerce Hon Raj J Modi and ICT Minister Hon Tatenda Mavetera to support vulnerable learners, including orphans, widows and families facing financial challenges.
Despite its success, Mr Sibanda expressed concern over competition from illegal colleges that employ unqualified staff and undercut compliant institutions.
“These institutions undermine quality education and disadvantage schools that follow Government regulations,” he said.
Among the top performers in the 2025 A-level examinations were Ronald Mashiri and Mitchelle Baipai, who both attained 12 points, excelling in Sociology, History and Literature in English.
Mr Sibanda added that in Bulawayo the academy runs two sister schools which run Zimsec and Cambridge examinations concurrently where initially Manali Vuyelwa was enrolled for Cambridge though she ended up writing Zimsec and will embark on her A- level studies.
Other students who did exceptionally well at O-level include Professor Ncube, Learnmore Muchumi, Panashe Magogo, Zinhle Bitu and Lenatoya Sakala.
