Falcon College, CBC form bulk of Matabeleland rugby teams

Twenty-six players were selected for the provisional Under-17 squad with Falcon College contributing 14, CBC five while Gifford had four. The other three players came from Milton High, Petra and Mzilikazi High School.

The Matabeleland coaches will this evening drop four players after the team’s training session set for Hartsfield Stadium.

“The squad will be trimmed to 22 boys today at training to be held at Hartsfield Stadium,” said the Under-17 manager Simba Dangah.

Falcon College, who beat CBC 34-3 in the main match of the trials, had 13 of its first team players making it into the final 22 that will travel for Saturday’s national trials to be held at Peterhouse in Marondera.

Those that will make it for the national teams will represent Zimbabwe at South Africa’s annual Coca-Cola Craven Week set for July.
