Mthokozisi Ncube
A Bulawayo family has been shattered following the brutal murder of a 52-year-old man whose body was found lying in a pool of blood along a roadside in Old Magwegwe.
Mlimisi Ncube of Pelandaba West, was discovered with stab wounds to the chest in the early hours of Sunday.
His daughter, Nomaqhawe Ncube, said the family was struggling to come to terms with the loss of a man she described as the pillar of the family.
Speaking to B-Metro, a visibly heartbroken Nomaqhawe said her father was the family’s sole breadwinner.
“My father was the breadwinner of the family. He was everything to us and the pillar that held the family together. He was going to work in Gwanda as he usually did. I still cannot believe that he is really gone,” she said.
She said the family is still searching for answers surrounding the circumstances of his death.
Meanwhile, police have launched investigations into the murder.

In a statement, Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said the body was discovered by a passing motorist.
“On 22 June 2026 at around 0510 hours, a motorist, a 43-year-old man, was driving along Hyde Park Road when he discovered the body of the now deceased Mlimisi Ncube, aged 52, of Pelandaba West, Bulawayo, lying on the side of the road at the Makaratini turn-off in Old Magwegwe,” said Insp Msebele.
She said the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood with two stab wounds on the right side of his chest.
A report was made to the police and the body was conveyed to United Bulawayo Hospitals for a post-mortem examination.
Police said investigations are continuing and appealed to members of the public who may have information that could assist in the arrest of the suspects to come forward.
“We appeal to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused persons to report at any nearest police station. We also warn criminals that the police will not rest until they are brought to book,” said Insp Msebele.
As investigations continue, the Ncube family remains in mourning, hoping those responsible for the killing will be brought to justice.
