Director of the group, Rogers Manungo said the group, from the Seventh Day Adventist institution decided to add instrumentals to some tracks so as to appeal to all types of audiences.
“We sing for all types of audiences so people vary and love variety. That is why we decided to add instrumentals on most of our tracks but we also have accapella tunes on the album,” said Manungo.
The director of the group, who is also a lecturer at the institution, composed all the tracks on the album.
He said they derived the title of the album from the daffodil, a rare flower symbolising friendship, as most tracks on the album spread peace and love messages.
Family Faith is an 11-member group founded in 2006.
It celebrated its fifth anniversary with the launch of the album held at Solusi University held last week. Manungo said the biggest obstacle for the group was that students come and go soon after completing their studies and at times it was difficult to keep in contact with them after graduating.
The album was produced and mastered at Ingwe Studios by Gabriel ‘Gabzfire’ Nyandoro.
Some of the tracks on the album to look forward to include the title track Daffodil (which encourages Christians to persevere and never lose faith in what they believe in) Let us give to the needy, Kwenzekani kithi na? Are you connected and Mazuva Apera.
