Family raises alarm over missing man amidst allegations and suspicion

Sunday News Reporter

Anderson Ncube (39) from Maphisa, Matobo district in Matabeleland South province has reportedly gone missing under troubling circumstances, prompting deep concern from his family.

The sudden disappearance has raised alarms, particularly given the allegations made by his employer, Zanu-PF Matobo South MP Soul Mahalima Ncube, who claimed that Anderson had stolen US$10,000 from his shop just before he vanished.

A family member, speaking on the condition of anonymity, revealed that the situation is particularly distressing because this is not the first time an employee of Mahalima has disappeared under mysterious circumstances.

They recounted how another colleague, Ndaba Ndebele, went missing in April 2023 shortly after the country’s independence celebrations in Maphisa.

The family member shared that Anderson had confided in them about his suspicions regarding Mahalima, expressing concern that the MP might be involved in his disappearance.

“Anderson told me that he felt uncomfortable around Mahalima because he knew many secrets about his operations, just like Ndaba did. He believed that this knowledge could put him in danger,” the family member stated.

Adding to their worries, the family suspects foul play in Anderson’s case, especially considering the influence Mahalima appears to wield.

“What makes things worse is that the police seem reluctant to assist us or even listen to our side of the story, likely due to Mahalima’s influence,” the family member lamented.

As the family continues to search for answers, they are calling on the community and authorities to take the matter seriously and help locate Anderson Ncube before it’s too late.

The growing fear surrounding his disappearance has left the family in a state of distress, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.
