DYNAMOS are not invincible after all!
FC Platinum produced a major upset when they knocked Dynamos off the pedal in a Castle Lager Premiership match played at Mandava Stadium yesterday.

The platinum miners were thrust into the lead through defender Elvis Moyo in the first minute before Charles Sibanda converted from the spot in the 25th minute.

FC Platinum are now in contention and the victory yesterday saw Dynamos failing once again to beat a team that is coached by Lloyd Mutasa, their former coach. Even during his days at Sporting Lions, Shooting Stars and Kiglon DeMbare could not get maximum points.
FC Platinum who commanded the midfield battle for the entire first half had Charles Sibanda slicing a pass to Nelson Maziwisa who in turn spotted Michelle Katsvairo on the right. The hard running former Gunners player obliged with a cross that was met with a firm header by Moyo and went past the big Dynamos goalkeeper George Chigova.

With Dynamos still trying to find out what had hit them, the referee awarded the hosts a penalty after he adjudged Ocean Mushure to have hacked down Katsvairo in the box.

Dynamos players tried in vain to protest the decision arguing that it was out of the box but the match official stood his ground and Sibanda converted when he sent Chigova the wrong way in the 25th minute.

Dynamos could have pulled one back in the 28th minute but South African league flop Simba Sithole who is yet to regain his form  headed wide a Russell Madamombe freekick outside the FC Platinum area.

The Harare giants captain Tawanda Muparati then saw his  header cleared from the line  by an FC Platinum defender after he had beaten goalkeeper  Francis Tizayi all systems out.

After the breather FC Platinum could have increased their tally in the 52nd minute when former Hwange midfielder Winston Mhango released a scorcher from a freekick awarded to the miners on the right wing but he saw his effort tipped over the bar by Chigova.

Two minutes after the miss it was Maziwisa’s turn to put the score beyond the reach of Dynamos when he was sent through by Katsvairo but with Chigova at his mercy and the Dynamos defence no where on sight, he sent his effort to the skies.

Callisto Pasuwa was then forced to make a double substitution introducing Stephen Alimenda and Benjamin Marere for Thomas Magorimbo and Cliff Sekete. Following the introduction of Alimenda there was mobility in the Dynamos game but the players looked tired.
FC Platinum chased every ball and were always first on the ball.  Dynamos players seemed to lack the zeal and confidence that is required for such a big institution which has collected more accolades on the domestic scene than any other club.

Since losing to Shabanie, Hwange, How Mine, the champions proved yesterday that they can’t beat a team that has something to do with mining as again yesterday they were handed another defeat by FC Platinum.

Mhango, Thabani Kamusoko, captain Daniel Vheremu, Raphael Muduviwa, Zambian import Aaron Katebe and Simon Shoko were running the whole afternoon which Dynamos failed to display.

Katebe who enjoys playing on the bigger stage at one point displayed what he is made of when he dribbled past substitute Clive Kawinga twice much to the delight of FC Platinum fans.
