FC PLATINUM vice captain Thabani Kamusoko has said they get into their Confederations Cup tie against Young Africans on Sunday afternoon with a positive mindset.
“We’re not scared of the Tanzanians. We’re ready for the game and we’re raring to go. We know it’s a different ball game altogether but since we’re playing away we have to be alert all the time.”
He is a key member of coach Norman Mapeza’s side that defeated Kenya’s Sofapaka a few weeks ago to advance.
“Our team is raring to go and my word to the platinum family and all the soccer loving Zimbabweans is that we’re going to Tanzania with a positive mind and we will try to win there. We’re very happy to be representing Zimbabwe by playing in Africa but it’s not easy. We managed to go past the preliminary stage and we hope that the gods will continue to smile at us, our technical team and the institution.
“I believe that we will come back with a positive result and have everyone smiling,” said the dreadlocked gifted midfielder who is the driving force behind the miners.
Kamusoko has fought many battles as he once played for Dynamos in the Champions League under coach Elvis “Chuchu” Chiweshe in 2010 beating FC Lupopo of DRC and qualifying for the mini league.
When he joined FC Platinum he again played in the Champions League and they managed to beat Green Mamba of Swaziland home and away only to be eliminated by El Merreikh of Sudan in 2012.
The 27-year-old Bulawayo boy who rose to prominence after his move from the now defunct Njube Sundowns has done well for the club.
FC Platinum left Zvishavane for Harare yesterday and will leave the country at 0900HRS for Tanzania where they will have a feel of the match venue tomorrow.
