FC Platinum were unlucky not to collect maximum points against ZPC Kariba in this Castle Lager Premiership soccer match at Mandava yesterday.

Both teams could have failed to score but they played the best football under two of the best coaches in the country

FC Platinum, who are one of the teams challenging the league title, beat ZPC Kariba 3-0 in their first meeting at Nyamhunga but yesterday the Sunday Chidzambwa-coached outfit was a different team.

ZPC Kariba goalkeeper Tendai Hove and his counterpart Petros Mhari were the stumbling blocks for both sides as they guarded their posts well.

Hove denied Brian Muzondiwa in the 19th minute when he went airborne to direct his effort for a corner which the hosts failed to utilise.

Five minutes later ZPC had the ball in back of the nets but their effort was ruled for off-side. FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza was satisfied with the draw.

“I am happy with the draw because ZPC Kariba is a very good team. I am proud of my boys they played so hard.

“We played better football today as compared to all the games we have played so far but at times we were rushing up things and in the first 30 seconds we could have scored a goal. It was difficult for them after playing a difficult game against Highlanders on Thursday. That’s two games in a space of three days. They fought well and the good news is some teams who are in the race drew also.

“Injuries played a role also in our performance and to be honest as a coach I missed Tarisai (Rukanda) today. He gave us the depth we need when going forward. My boys played so hard and I am happy with a point”.

Veteran coach Chidzambwa was also happy with the draw.

“We were playing a well organized team which was very good in possession.
