Reigning Bulawayo Social Soccer League (BSSL) champions FC Stars are set to lock horns against Makwee at their home ground Ndola, Iminyela this morning.
FC Stars, who stumbled two games on the trot have quickly returned back to winning ways by posting two consecutive wins. Coming into this game they are expected to continue on that path against a decent Makwee who sit on position eleven on the log standings.
It will be interesting to see how the visitors will handle the marauding stars strikers led by former PSL gun slinger Chipo Tsodzo. In addition to Tsodzo there are a number of former greats from the country’s elite league who have the capacity to single handedly help the team walk away with a positive result.
According to FC Stars organising secretary Linda Bhebhe there is no room to slip up now considering that Makwee are just an ear short away.
“As much as Makwee is a good side we are definitely going to reap our three points, we ought to widen the margin against Man U. At this stage we can’t afford to slip or draw as they are breathing behind with just two points separating us,” said Bhebhe.
Second-placed Man U are at home to Brotherhood in another game that could produce an avalanche of goals considering their position on the long standing. The hosts are second while their opponents sit in position thirteen after just accumulating close to half what their Man U have gained to date.
In Pool B joint log leaders Mayihlome and Skippers will also be looking forward to continue on their rich vein of form as one slip up by the other might prove to be costly at the end of the season. Mayihlome have a home fixture against Wembley a match they expected to prevail if they stick to their games plan which seems to be working up to now. Skippers who sit on position two will also be hoping to remain on a winning path while hoping that along the journey Mayihlome might slip up a scenario that might see them move to the apex of the table.
Today they take a trip from Mpopoma to Desert, Njube ground for a match against Njube Crackers.
Taking into consideration the position of Njube Crackers on the log who sit at position (11) not much resistance is expected from this team.
