Federer moves past Murray in ATP rankings

Paris – Roger Federer overtook Andy Murray as he climbed to second in the ATP world rankings after seeing off Rafael Nadal for his seventh Swiss Indoors title at the weekend. Richard Gasquet, beaten by Nadal in the semi-finals in Basel, moved up two places to ninth. Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska climbed one place to fifth in the WTA rankings released yesterday on the strength of her WTA Finals success.

Radwanska beat Petra Kvitova 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in Sunday’s final after downing top seed Simona Halep and Garbine Muguruza earlier in the eight-player tournament.

Serena Williams continues to dominate the world rankings despite the American star’s absence in Singapore last week.— Supersport.
