Afro-fusion star Feli Nandi has unveiled acclaimed Chimurenga musician Kurai Makore as the latest addition to her star-studded line-up for the anticipated Fill up HICC concert at the Harare International Conference Centre on August 14.

Makore’s inclusion further strengthens what is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest live music showcases, bringing together artistes from different genres to celebrate Zimbabwean music.

The singer-songwriter first made his mark on the Chimurenga scene with the release of his debut album, Gara Unzwe, in 2020. He cemented his growing reputation two years later with his sophomore project, Ngoma Kurira, which further established him as one of the country’s leading voices in contemporary Chimurenga music.

Widely recognised as the nephew of Chimurenga legend Thomas Mapfumo, Makore has continued to build on his family’s rich musical legacy while carving out his own identity through socially conscious lyrics and traditional Zimbabwean sounds.

He joins an impressive list of performers already announced for the HICC concert, including Tamy Moyo, Mr Putiti, Fusion 5 Mangwiro and Mwenje Mathole.

With more acts expected to be revealed, anticipation continues to build for the concert, which promises an evening celebrating the diversity and richness of Zimbabwean music.
