AWARD-winning Afro-soul singer Feli Nandi has enlisted celebrated Afro-jazz musician Mwenje Mathole and his band for her highly anticipated Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) concert on August 14, as she intensifies preparations for a landmark performance.
The concert is expected to be one of the biggest moments of Feli Nandi’s career as she aims to become the first Zimbabwean female musician to fill the 4 500-seat HICC, one of the country’s most prestigious entertainment venues.
As excitement continues to build, Feli Nandi has been unveiling a strong supporting line-up of local talent, with Mathole becoming the latest artist confirmed for the show.
Known for hit songs such as Zvaunondiitira, Madhlauzani, Paye and Samora Mashero, Mathole has earned widespread acclaim for his distinctive Afro-fusion sound, which blends traditional Zimbabwean music with contemporary influences and draws heavily from his theatre background.
The pair previously collaborated on the popular single Mboni, released in late 2022. Fans were recently treated to a nostalgic performance when the two reunited to perform the song together, with Mathole using the occasion to confirm his participation at the August 14 concert.
Mathole joins an impressive line-up of guest performers that already includes Tamy Moyo, Fusion 5 Mangwiro and ExQ Mr Putiti, all of whom are set to support Feli Nandi in her quest to make Zimbabwean music history.
