RENOWNED filmmaker and video producer, Dumisani Dube, has set himself a target to be one of the leading visual storytellers in Africa.
As one of the most influential directors in the industry, Dube – known professionally as Boss Director – continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.
His latest masterpiece, the music video for Nutty O’s hit single “Too Much,” has solidified his position as a visionary filmmaker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative storytelling.
In an interview, Boss Director said his quest to be one of the best visual storytellers in the country and in Africa aims to push the Zimbabwean film and music industry onto the world stage.
“Visual storytelling is one key aspect that I believe will help elevate our film and music industry to meet international standards.
“We have to be creative and redefine the art of filmmaking.
“If we look at South Africa’s film and music industry, they are far ahead in terms of visual storytelling and we should aim to be better than them.
“So this is a challenge to all the filmmakers in Zimbabwe – let us all work hard to be creative and come up with concepts that will change the landscape and take our industry to the next level,” he said.
Among his catalogue, Boss Director has produced music videos for artists such as Nutty O (“Normalize”), Tammy Moyo (“Kwatinoenda GPS”), Bagga ft Tammy Moyo (“Bone Marrow”), Voltz JT, Calvin Mangena, and Poptain.
