A musical group Final Warning has released a song calling for unity in the ruling party Zanu-PF. Titled “Zanu-PF Unity” the song urges party members to remain united for development.

“Ngatibatane vana veZanu tiwirirana, Tigoshandira gutsa ruzhinji takabatana, Tina VaMugabe muZanu-PF tinobudirira . . . (Let us unite in Zanu- PF and work to feed the nation. With President Mugabe in Zanu-PF we prosper, goes part of the song.

‘‘The song discourages people from being ambitious but focuses on unity so that the party delivers the best to the people.

“Party yedu haivakwe nekurwisana inofamba nekusimba takabatana Zim-Aset inoshanda takabatana, Tinebasa hombe kwete kurovana (Our party does not prosper if there is no unity, we have a lot of work to do than to fight against each other”, reads part of the lyrics . . .

On December 22 1987 a unity accord between Zanu-PF and PF Zapu was signed. The accord proved that President Robert Mugabe and the late Joshua Nkomo believes in unity and since then there was prosperity in the country.

Close to 30 years down the line, people are still encouraged to be united and work to develop the nation.

One of the group leaders Prosper Dembedza said unity was the only way to prosperity.

“The economic blueprint can only work if people are united. There is need for the party to preserve unity so that there can be progress,” said Dembedza.

He said they were happy that people were supporting the cause. “People from the party are very supportive and they have already endorsed the song. It shows they are focused and willing to preserve peace,” he said.

Dembedza thanked Harare South MP Shadreck Mashayamombe for supporting the group to release the song and the video of the song.

“Cde Mashayamombe financed everything, even the video shoot,” he said. Dembedza said they will keep on releasing songs that have value to the party.

“There are several themes we will work on. We are determined to encourage party members and even the youth,” he said.

He said the group are currently working on a heroes song.
