Fire breaks out at Sidojiwe Flats

A fire broke out at Sidojiwe Flats in Bulawayo on Saturday, damaging one room on the third floor of the building.

Bulawayo Chief Fire Officer, Mr Mhlangano Moyo, confirmed the incident and said no injuries were reported.

“Our team responded swiftly to the scene and managed to restrict the fire to a single room. There were no injuries or fatalities,” said Mr Moyo.

He said the suspected cause of the fire was an electrical fault.

“We suspect an electrical fault may have triggered the fire, but investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause,” he said.

The value of the damaged property was yet to be established.
