It is with a deep sense of shock and sadness that I learnt of the untimely death of one of the board members of Angel of Hope Foundation, Dr Shelton Nash Zichawo.
Dr Zichawo died yesterday at a local hospital where he was receiving treatment.
As the founder of Angel of Hope Foundation, I am deeply touched to have lost a key member of the board whom we worked with from the inception of the organisation in 2018 up to this day.
As a trained medical practitioner, Dr Zichawo provided the much-needed guidance on health matters handled by Angel of Hope Foundation in its quest to improve the health of the country’s citizenry.
He combined his wealth of experience in the health sector with love for mankind, hence his open-door approach to the general public, which made it possible to consult him any time of the day as he made sure the nation of Zimbabwe benefitted from his in-depth knowledge.
Dr Zichawo worked tirelessly to ensure that systems were put in place for the smooth functioning of AOH Foundation.
We would refer patients we met during our outreach programmes to him for assessment to determine the type of help they required.
For the years, we worked with him, I and other members of the Foundation, benefitted immensely from his high level of professionalism, dedication and loyalty which was a shining example for many others.
We are going to miss his wonderful sense of humour and candour, which were always typical of his engagements.
On behalf of Angel of Hope Foundation, I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and wish them comfort in this trying period.
