IN a major boost to the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, has sourced a consignment of brand-new clothing items comprising clothes and shoes that will be distributed to vulnerable groups.
The shoes and clothes will be distributed to vulnerable groups in all the country’s 10 provinces, targeting orphans, widows, people living with disabilities, the sick, the elderly and child-headed families.
This generous gesture by the Angel of Hope Foundation goes beyond meeting basic needs, it seeks to restore dignity, warmth, and hope to the less privileged.
Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Acting Chief Director of Social Services Development and Disability Affairs, Mr Tawanda Zimhunga, commended the First Lady’s continued support for the vulnerable.
“We are grateful for the support we received from Her Excellency, the First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, and the clothing items she sourced from her international partners. This is an assortment of brand-new clothing items,” he said.
Mr Zimhunga said the items will be distributed across all 10 provinces to vulnerable groups.

“So, each province is going to benefit, ensuring that this goes to the most needy members of society in our country. It will go to the furthest areas, the hard-to-reach, the remotest parts of the country,” he said. Mr Zimhunga said people who will benefit are diverse.
“That includes persons with disabilities, the destitute, the elderly, child-headed households, orphans and vulnerable children, those who are chronically ill and the labour-constrained, such that they are not able to fend for themselves,” he said.
Mr Zimhunga said with every act of generosity, Dr Mnangagwa continues to prove that compassion paired with action can truly transform lives, one person, one community at a time.
“This is not the first time the First Lady has done this. She has been going around the country assisting the vulnerable,” he said.
The brand-new clothing items are a testament to how the mother of the nation has touched many hearts through her humanitarian efforts and inclusive, non-partisan approach.
With unwavering commitment and compassion, Dr Mnangagwa has tirelessly worked towards reducing clothing insecurity and restoring dignity to countless individuals across the country.
The First Lady has done that through her numerous initiatives, including her annual blanket drive and winter wear donation to vulnerable groups in all the country’s 10 provinces.
