THE Zimbabwe Football Association Southern region Five-A-Side soccer league got a timely shot in the arm when a local company, Impact Mining Suppliers sponsored them with prizes.
Impact Mining Suppliers helped the financially struggling Five-A-Side league through upping the stakes in terms of competition among players. Chairman of the league, Philani Banda said that the sponsorship will come a long way in encouraging and giving hope to the players.
“The players lacked motivation in the league because they required an incentive which pushes them to play at their best ability,” he said.
League winners will walk away with prize money with other accolades included for the best player and coach of the season. The support does not end there as all the league teams will each receive kits and balls for playing matches.
“An incentive has been offered for the league winners and prizes for individuals, including kits and soccer balls for the teams. Impact Mining Suppliers have shown us great support and their interest in the development of the sport,’’ said Banda.
Impact Mining Suppliers official Nhlanhla Sibanda confirmed that they will continue working with the league as part of giving back to the community.
