FLAME Lily assistant coach Masimba Mutame says they are expecting to sign nine players to beef up their squad ahead of the Premier League starting next month.

Flame Lily, who spent 12 years in Division One will make their debut appearance in the top flight league when the new season begins on March 7.

They have signed Isaac Madziva and Ashley Ganya from ZRP Morris and Lloyd Majarira from Commando.

“Our preparations are okay, we are trying to finalise our squad for the season. We haven’t finalised some of the deals with the clubs yet. Actually, we have signed three players only, Lloyd Majarira from Commando, Isaac Madziva and Ashley Ganya from ZRP Morris.

“So we are now left with about six players to make it nine, we have retained 21 players.

“We are looking at about two defenders, two mid-fielders, a goalkeeper and the rest are strikers,” said Mutame.

With less than a month to go before the new season starts, Mutame said they were raring to go.

“Basically, we are waiting for the season to begin. I think everybody is working hard fighting to get a place in the team.

“We are hopeful we will do well with the team we have assembled,” said Mutame.
