Foetus head found in shack

Bulawayo’s Ngozi Mine illegal settlers were shocked after a Bulawayo City Council employee stumbled on the head of a foetus near a

makeshift house in the community.
The strange discovery happened last week on Wednesday at Ngozi Mine.
According to an illegal settler, Mathias Moyo, hordes of squatters thronged the scene to catch a glimpse of the eerie discovery.

Speaking to B-Metro, residents expressed shock and sympathy at the strange discovery.

Tabeth Moyo described the incident as ungodly.

“Some people are heartless and ungodly! How could someone kill a baby? There are people who are wishing to have a child but they have tried by all means possible without any success,” she said.

Molly Mapudzi believes a stranger dumped the foetus in their community.“I strongly believe someone from another area dumped the foetus

here and dogs mauled it, leaving the head. I suspect it’s one of the people from other places who come here for leisure at our shebeens who want to cast a negative picture about this place and that is bad,”she said.

A man who only identified himself as Moyo expressed shock at the incident saying it was not the first time such a thing had happened in the area.

“I was left shocked and sad after seeing the head of a foetus dumped at our place and I think a person did that for ritual purposes because the whole body was not there. Twice or thrice a year we stumble upon a foetus,” he said.

A police report was made and detectives came and collected the foetus.

In another incident a Bulawayo City Council employee stumbled on a foetus in Pumula North last week on Tuesday. They reported the matter to the police who collected the body and took it to Mpilo Central Hospital.

Acting Bulawayo Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incidents.

“I would like to urge females to use recommended family planning methods to avoid unplanned pregnancies which lead them to abort. The suspects are still at large, as a result we are appealing to community members to help us with information that could lead to their arrest,” said Msebele.
