FORMER Gems captain Perpetua Siyachitema says she is excited ahead of the inaugural edition of her Mixed Tournament set for White City Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday.

“This will be the first edition and l am a bit nervous given that I’m not sure how everything is going to pan out. At the same time l am also excited I am finally doing this. The idea behind this tournament is to inspire young girls out there and educate them on how the game can transform their lives. From the orgainsing committee everything’s in place and we are looking forward to a successful competition,” said Siyachitema.

The former Gems captain led the team to their maiden 2019 World Cup appearance in Liverpool, UK, where they had a remarkable run and eventually finished in eighth position.
