Former highlanders midfielder Nkosilathi ‘Diego’ Khumalo dies

FORMER Highlanders and Njube Sundowns slippery midfielder Nkosilathi “Diego” Khumalo has died. He was 37. According to the former Zifa Southern Region vice chairman Morgan Dube, Khumalo, who had been unwell for some time, passed on just after 4PM yesterday at his family house in Chinotimba suburb in Victoria Falls.

“He has rested, yes, but this boy was my youngster and I’m deeply pained following his death,” said Dube last night.

Dube, who is the Highlanders Victoria Falls Supporters’ Chapter chairman, said funeral arrangements will be announced later today but Khumalo was likely to be buried in Victoria Falls.

Mourners are gathered at house number 3038 Chinotimba suburb, Victoria Falls. Khumalo was single.

Highlanders and FC Platinum, who clash in the ZNA Charities semi-final match at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon are likely to observe a minute of silence before kickoff in honour of Khumalo.
