FOUR armed robbers allegedly subdued five Fawcett Security guards before blowing a wall-mounted safe and stealing over US$9 000 at a fuel station in Kwekwe.

The police confirmed the robbery that occurred on November 17 at Meru Service Station in Kwekwe in a statement posted on their X account (formerly Twitter).

“Four armed men approached a Fawcett officer who was on duty and forced him to lie on the ground. They tied his hands and legs before dragging him into the building,” read part of the statement.

A second Fawcett officer ran into the building and was also caught while attempting to notify the Fawcett Reaction Team.

“The suspects tied his hands and legs. They dragged him into the same room where the other Fawcett guard was being held,” read the statement.

The suspects then forced their way into a second room, where three Fawcett guards were asleep and tied their hands and legs.

“They blasted a wall-mounted safe and stole US$9 700 and went away,” read the statement.
