SELF-STYLED Kuwadzana prophet Aleck Mushowane, who was on the run after his initial appearance in court, was over the weekend dragged to court facing fresh rape charges.

Mushowane was not asked to plead when he appeared in court over the weekend, on fresh rape charges and a warrant of arrest, which was confirmed after his initial bail was revoked.

The complainant in the fresh charges is 14 years old. The court heard that on July 14 Mushowane approached the complainant, who was standing at her gate with her friend and told them that he was a prophet who was willing to help them spiritually to get good luck in life.

On the same day at 5 pm, the two girls went to Mushowane’s house, where he indicated that he needed to have sexual intercourse with them for the spiritual cleansing exercise to be effective, but the two refused and ran back to their respective homes.

On July 16, Mushowane allegedly approached the complainant again and asked her to accompany him to his house.

He allegedly took the girl to his bedroom and demanded have sex with her, which she rejected.

He offered her US$30, but she refused and he allegedly raped her.

In the first case, Mushowane is accused raping a 19-year-old girl.
