South Africa-based writer, Fundani Ncwadiyothando Ndlovu, recently unveiled his latest movie, “Friends Forever”, a compelling narrative aimed at shedding light on the challenges faced by school children and the significance of making wise life choices.

Friends Forever features a diverse cast of 27 characters from Zimbabwe and South Africa, focusing on the intricacies of school life. It delves into the trials faced by students, emphasising issues like jealousy and betrayal.

Its primary goal is to raise awareness among high school students about the potential dangers of untrustworthy friendships and encourage them to make informed life choices.

Sharing his motivation behind the movie, Ndlovu emphasised its focus on school children and the complexities of their lives.

“The film aims to inspire caution among high school children regarding their social circles, particularly in dealing with potentially harmful individuals. It highlights the risks talented or promising students may face, stressing the importance of being mindful of associations,” he said.

“Often, friends of these children can become jealous and act maliciously towards them. It is important to raise awareness of these dangers and to encourage children to be careful about whom they associate themselves with,” he said.

Friends Forever conveys a powerful message of resilience and perseverance. By showcasing the struggles of bright students, the film encourages viewers not to succumb to adversity but rather to make positive choices in their lives.

Ndlovu urged understanding from parents, emphasising that children may choose their own paths, despite a good upbringing.

“The movie advocates for a broader focus on children’s needs in creative projects, encouraging the development of content that     benefits and entertains young audiences.”

The film, available on YouTube, was produced by Pull-up Media and directed by Vusi Mhlanga and Fundani Ncwadiyothando Ndlovu.
