THE Friends of the Warriors group have come out in full support of the Mighty Warriors ahead of their clash against Angola in the 2026 AFCON qualifiers in Luanda.
The fans are confident the team will do well and then complete the assignment on February 26 in South Africa.
The Friends of Warriors could not travel to Angola to give the team morale support.
Friends of Warriors president, Todd Dzvangaguru, said Sibanda has what it takes to help the Mighty Warriors qualify for the AFCON finals next year.
“We have been waiting for this opportunity and we are happy that we have a new ZIFA executive committee in place who have supported the girls like never before.
“The result will go a long way in determining our world rankings, so we will not take anything for granted but do our best.”
William Mahoko, the Friends of Warriors committee member in charge of logistics and travel, said they were fully behind the Mighty Warriors.
He said they will send some representatives for the reverse fixture in South Africa.
“We urge the entire nation to solidly rally behind our gallant Mighty Warriors as they go into battle in these back-to-back crunch ties.
“We encourage all soccer loving fans to use various social media platforms to encourage, motivate and inspire our girls.
“The Mighty Warriors are raring to go and we are looking forward to a great game.
“We challenge them to go into battle with a winning mentality.
“They must not be intimidated by playing both matches away from home, we have equally gifted stars who are good enough to fight to the bitter end and achieve the desired results. We have faith and confidence in the team assembled by coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda and work, dedication and staying focused will be the key attributes to our success,’’ said Mahoko.
