FROM BULAWAYO WITH SWAGGER! Munashe Siyanata puts Zim on the global map

WHEN Munashe Siyanata walks into a room, he doesn’t just turn heads, he turns the spotlight to Zimbabwe!

At just 24 years old, the Bulawayo-born, Gweru-based heartthrob strutted his way into history, clinching the Second Runner-Up title at the Mr Heritage Global pageant on May 19, 2025, the first time an African nation cracked the Top 3!

But Munashe didn’t wake up in international glory. His journey started in 2022 with nothing but raw ambition and a runway dream. Since then, the smooth-talking stunner has stacked titles like Mr Midlands Show 2022, 2nd Runner-Up at Mr Zimbabwe International, and Mr Heritage Zimbabwe – King.

Now juggling books and bookings at Gweru Polytechnic, Munashe is turning his dream into a fantastic reality. He’s on a mission to sell Zimbabwe, its culture, heritage, and untold beauty, to the world.

“This was my first time flying the flag on a global stage,” he says. “I was proud to showcase the best of my country.”

But make no mistake, it wasn’t all glitz and glamour.

With no sponsors and his first-ever trip beyond borders, Munashe faced the ugly side of pageantry. But instead of crumbling, he carved his way through with grit.

“People are still warming up to the idea of male models,” he admits. “But those who backed me, I salute you!”

He says his proudest moment was that heart-stopping second his name was called among the world’s best.

“I was overwhelmed! I couldn’t believe it, but I soaked in every second,” he grins.

Now, with international gigs flooding in and his name bouncing from fashion houses to tourism boards, Munashe is living proof that dreams, even African ones, are valid.

“Zimbabweans are passionate people,” he says. “When we represent, we go all in!”

To every dreamer with doubts, Munashe has one message:
“Life will throw rocks. Pray, stay positive, and walk your path with pride.”

From Gweru to global! Watch this space. Munashe Siyanata is just getting started.
