GARRY Kumalo, at the youthful age of 26, is not just the co-founder of Mix Masters Enterprise but also a visionary in the beverage industry. His latest endeavour is a cocktail workshop set for tomorrow at the Cillas Conference Centre in Mimosa House, Bulawayo.
The event aims to cultivate a new generation of bartenders and mixologists, enriching the hospitality sector with skilled professionals.
In an interview with Saturday Leisure, Garry said: “We have noticed that when it comes to cocktail making and service there are few individuals who know the right standards, which is why we have introduced this workshop.”

The workshop is more than just a learning experience; it’s the Launchpad for the Bartending Academy, where enthusiasts can journey from novices to mixology maestros.
“We are also introducing a Bartending Academy where we will be training people from Introduction in Bartending up to Advanced level which is Mixology,” Garry added.
Participants will immerse themselves in the art of cocktail creation, menu planning, and service timing, opening doors to opportunities in the beverage industry, from local bars to the decks of cruise ships. Managers, too, will gain insights into the fine balance of cocktails, setting a standard for their establishments.
Garry’s message to the youth is one of empowerment and self-belief.
“Don’t look down upon yourself or blame yourself for failures, you still have a long way to go and we are leaving no one behind.”
Looking ahead, Garry envisions grand establishments under his banner, achieving international acclaim and leading the market. His ambition for the academy is global, aspiring to welcome students from every corner of the world. — @Lo7246Lovelyn
