JOHANNESBURG – From struggling to say a full sentence as a child to commanding packed auditoriums with power-packed speeches, Kudakwashe T Muganu has completed a remarkable transformation – and Africa just took notice!
The Zimbabwean-born, South Africa-based author, life coach, and motivational trailblazer has been crowned Best Motivational Speaker of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Emerge Africa Awards held in Johannesburg last month.
And this isn’t his first rodeo with greatness!

In 2023, Muganu walked away with Outstanding Author of the Year at the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards, thanks to the impact of his two inspiring reads – The Power of Wisdom and Who Does Not Want to Quit School.
But it’s The Power of Wisdom that flipped the script on his career.

“That book opened doors,” Muganu revealed.
He’s since lit up platforms like the City of Ekurhuleni Authors Summit, Gauteng Provincial events, and Soweto TV, not to mention radio giants Jozi FM, Alex FM, and Kasie FM.
Even better? The book is now approved in South African schools and libraries – a rare feat for a Zimbabwean voice!
From Silent Boy to Mic Master

Born with a debilitating stammer, Muganu only began speaking clearly at five. Today?
He speaks for a living – rocking mics at schools, funerals, conferences, and live broadcasts.

“I was a stammerer, but now I speak for a living. Your gift can become your livelihood,” Muganu declared, oozing confidence.
His message to the youth is crystal clear:
“Refine your gift – it will take you before kings and queens.”
From shy beginnings to continental accolades, Muganu is proof that destiny favors the determined.
And he’s just getting started.
