Frustrated Masomere blasts team official

“I feel Phiri (Chengetai) was put in the structures for a purpose because his conduct is not good for football and even for the community of Zvishavane,” said Masomere.
“I think he was given the post for a purpose and he is not there for football but to frustrate me and other members.
“I do not even want to talk to him because he is not there for football.

“He is younger than me and I will never report to him.”
Masomere, who said he was now a Doctor of Football, said Phiri was a destablising factor in the team.
“When I came to Shabanie in 2011 they had two balls and since I was born and bred here, and also played for the asbestos miners, I felt I should help the club avoid relegation,” said Masomere.

“But there are people who are bent on stalling the progress.
“I gave them 30 balls and I now stand accussed.”

Phiri also stands accused by the club supporters for allegedly trying to band their representative committee that features mine employees.
The club’s marshals have also accused him of trying to isolate them and turning away the sponsors.
Masomere is still to sign a contract with Shabanie Mine and he was hoping to do that yesterday.

The coach had been operating without a contract since his return from the ban imposed by Zifa last November.
The coach claims he was never assisted with a single cent by the club, when he was banned by Zifa, and was hurt when some members of the committee were interviewed by pirate radio station, Studio 7 of the Voice of America, claiming he was no longer the coach.

Club president, Greg Mataka, stood by Masomere during his suspension saying the club would not appoint another coach until their gaffer’s case had been resolved.
Masomere is expected to lead Shabanie Mine tomorrow when they take on Monomotapa.

“We beat Monomotapa last season home and away when they were a very good team,” said Masomere.
“They are far much better than us because beating Chicken Inn away from home says a lot.

“We have never won tested victory away this year and we are going into the match as underdogs but I am not sure if the story will still be the same after the match.”
Shabanie have four points and Masomere guided them to victory when they beat pacesetters FC Platinum in the Zvishavane derby.
Masomere praised Monoz coach, Biggie Zuze, for assembling a good team.

“I am not worried about (Ronald) Chitiyo because good players are plying their trade in South Africa and Europe,” said Masomere.
“Scouts come here often and take them and so if any player is playing in our league it means he is on the same level with my players at Shabanie.
“I am promising my fans a very good game. We are going to do our best and pulling a surprise will be a bonus on our side.”
Chitiyo is unavailable for Monoz as he is away with the Warriors in Zambia this weekend.
