With a month away, organisers of the family fun day event dubbed, Colour Festival’ have said preparations are at an advanced stage.
The one-day show which is hosted by Nash TV will have a full pack of activities, especially for children.
It will be hosted on August 24 at Alex Sports Club, running under the theme ‘Family Fun Day.’
On to the musical entertainment, organisers have said that Zimdancehall singer Freeman, ‘Ndega Handigoni’, hit-maker Saintfloew, Gemma Griffiths, and Michael Maggz are expected to share the stage.
There will also be a series of disc jockeys including DJ King Her, MC Tatts, and DJ Ikonic Krimz among others who will be on turntables.
As health is key in every individual there will be also zumba sessions. In an interview, Nash TV general manager, Mona-Lisa Dube, said preparations were at an advanced stage, with registration for exhibitors on course.
She said the event is a way of showing appreciation to Nash TV’s supporters.
“As Nash TV, we are so appreciative of the support by the Zimbabwean audiences they have given us over the years and this is our way of giving back by providing a platform for them to create memories with their families and loved ones,” she said.
Asked what would be happening on the day, Dube said, “We labelled the event Colour Festival because of our background with on paints, henceforth,it will be a fun show where we will have activities such as an entertainment area for the kids with jumping castle, face painting, candy floss, quad bikes, horses, and 360 booth, among others.”
“We are expecting 3 000 to 4 000 people, For concert we have unveiled artistes who will be performing and will furnish you with further details,” she said.
Children have welcomed the initiative and said they were happy it will be school holidays.
Five-year-old Kadmiel Murova of Glen Norah B said she is expecting fun galore at the event.
“Yes, I am definitely attending the event and I am expecting more food, especially chips, and ice cream. I am a huge fan of these colour festival events and what I like most about them is the jumping castle and horse riding,” she said.
Another festival fan, Talent Matekedza, (10) from Borrowdale said this would be his first time to attend such an event and was going bring along his friends.
“This is going to be my first time attending such events and I am saving money for the event because I want to experience every activity at this colour festival.”
” I am going to attend this event with my friends so that we can spend quality time together away from school. I love the programme lineup available,” he said.
