Fungasai’s album a hit

Gospel songbird Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave’s collaborative album, titled “Social Facts”, has proved popular among fans of the genre. The album was released last year and features Jah Prayzah, Albert Nyathi, Mudiwa Mtandwa and South African gospel singer, Buhle Mahlangulela. The song “Gore Rapera” has further endeared Fungisai to her fans as seen on the Star FM chat show.

“I was hopeful that my product was going to make it on the market because of the way l packaged it. I am thankful for the respect and support from fans. Jah Prayzah and Nyathi made the album a great one,” she said. She said her aim was to spread the word of God to more people from all backgrounds. The “Makomborero” singer stressed that people should understand that religion is not a profession. “There is nothing wrong in collaborating with secular artistes. It is only in music that we are classified with the type of religion otherwise in other professions people interact freely”.

“Christianity is my personal life and music is my profession. Most of the musicians who sing secular music are also Christians. She said it was the product which mattered most. “For me, it is a case of bringing in different expertise to avoid monotony, I do not discriminate against anyone as long as they add value to my music.”
