Fungisai to fundraise for church construction

GOSPEL diva Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave makes a much-awaited return to Victoria Falls after the United Methodist Church in Zimbabwe invited her for its fund-raising family day.
The event will be held on November 1 at Chinotimba Stadium. UMC Mkhosana branch building committee chairperson, Roland Makaure said their target was to raise $5,000. He said the money was meant to fund the completion of their church building before the start of the rainy season.

“We are building a church in Mfelandawonye and we are mobilising resources to buy roofing material,” said Makaure.
He said Fungisai’s show was part of the fundraising activities lined up by the church and appealed to Victoria residents to come in their numbers for the show.

Makaure said the fundraising activities kick off with a soccer tournament to feature teams from different churches in the resort town while children will be treated to jumping castles and other games.

Gate fees are pegged at $3 adults and $1 for children, he said.
