Bikita Minerals are set to have their first dance in the topflight on Sunday in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Yadah at Sakubva.
This comes after a long disputed case between Tenax and the Eastern Region Soccer League over the 2023 championship.
Bikita Minerals were declared winners last week and will join the Premiership campaign with a re-arranged Week 2 fixture at home to Yadah.
It will be the only fixture this weekend and PSL suspended all Week 3 matches due to the FIFA break, which allowed the shifting of Bikita Minerals’ match against Yadah from today to Sunday.
Week 3 matches are set to commence on March 28.
A Bikita Minerals official revealed that their target is to survive relegation.
“The club is now putting every structure into use and preparing to have a strong start,” he said.
“At the moment we have been engaging all stakeholders and as soon as we finish all the requisites the squad will be officially presented to the public.
“Saul Chaminuka will be leading the boys from the dugout though his appointment was delayed due to several reasons, the major one being that he had not yet penned a contract with the club.
“Also, the club wanted to secure its status first before completing the administrative issues. Now that everything is now water under the bridge there is a good atmosphere in camp.”
