Gasa embarks on ‘Simbi Hombe’ tour

been jostling for the young musician’s signature ever since the launch of the album at Jazz 105 in Harare earlier this year.
However, some of his fans have not had a chance to sample the album and, according to Gasa, this is the right time for them to know what he is made of.

“The album has raised the profile of the musician and people can now identify with his music. Gasa has now been weaned from big artistes and is now his own man since he has matured.

“The tour comes as a way of proving to people that Gasa is here to stay,” said Joseph Kakoto, Gasa’s assistant manager.
The tour kicked off  on July 20 with a show in Banket, before heading for Mhangura the next day.
On July 23, Gasa was in Kadoma while tonight he will be performing in Karoi.

Tomorrow, Kariba folk will dance to his music and on Sunday Gasa will be at Lion’s Den.
Gasa, who hails from Chinhoyi, has shared the stage with some of big names in the country and has since relocated to Harare to enhance his fortunes.

“Simbi Hombe” is his third album after “Sungura Compressor” and “Mufaro Kwamuri”.
He is gifted with bass guitar-playing skills which, many observers have say, were inspired by sungura maestro, Alick “Extrabasso” Macheso.

Gasa pays tribute to Steady Munyanyi, the owner of Diamond Studios, who recorded his latest album, for the success of “Simbi Hombe” as well as the support he has given him.
