Sungura musician Romeo Gasa will tonight launch his fourth album “Pin Code”, at Jazz 105. The album launch will be graced by fellow musicians among them Jah Prayzah, Suluman Chimbetu, First Farai and Peter Moyo. Gasa described the album as the “best thing to happen to him”.
“As musicians we keep on perfecting our skills and comparing it with other albums I think this is the best. I have been planning for this album launch and I hope it will be a success,” he said.
Gasa said he was grateful for the support he was getting from other musicians.
“As musicians in the country we continue to support each other and I am happy that all the musicians I have invited will come for the launch,” he said.
Since storming into the music mainstream after winning the 2007 Chibuku Road to Fame top prize, Romeo Gasa’s star continues to shine.
“He is one of our best musicians and we have been working well with him. We are looking forward to the album launch tonight,” said Diamonds Studios’ boss Steady Munyayi.
The young and energetic musician has been busy every weekend staging live shows. He has become a favourite with many promoters due to his artistry.
To further enhance his otherwise promising career, the musician who hails from Chinhoyi relocated to Harare to pursue his music.
“Chinhoyi is a small town and it was becoming difficult to travel to Harare on weekends for shows. Most serious musicians have relocated to Harare for opportunities. Chinhoyi will forever remain my home, I came here to work,” he said.
Gasa, who leads the group Extra Valembe, has so far released two albums titled “Sungura Compressor”, “Mufaro Kwamuri” and “Simbi Hombe”.
