Gem Boys shift focus to ZPC

Manica Diamonds defender Tawanda Chisi says they are now focusing on their upcoming league game against ZPC Kariba at Gibbo on Saturday.

The Gem Boys are going into this match after a 0-1 defeat to Ngezi Platinum at Baobab on Saturday, a defeat which left them in third place and three points behind the leaders.

On the other hand, ZPC Kariba edged Herentals 1-0 in their last encounter.

Chisi believes they still have a lot to play for and they will approach every game as it comes.

“We lost to Ngezi despite putting a good fighting spirit which was a bit of a hiccup in our title aspirations.

“But as players, we are psyching ourselves up to get ourselves in the right state of mind. We are focusing on our next game against ZPC Kariba and we have already left aside the Ngezi game to focus on our next game.

“Kariba won their last game and they will be trying to carry the momentum and have a positive result so we are going to have a cautionary approach against them as they can cause troubles on the break.

“We believe that we can give a good title chase as a team and work our way to the top of the log. We are working hard in our preparations, as players we always want to play for our coach, the fans, and the rest of our team stakeholders.

“There is still a long way to the championship but we will take every game as it comes and fight to our best abilities.”
