At only 23 years old, Genius “Ginimbi” Mutungamiri has already established himself as a midfield maestro, using slick footwork and quick thinking to dazzle opponents and captivate Chicken Inn FC fans.

In an interview with Chronicle Sport ahead of the Bulawayo derby; Highlanders FC versus Chicken Inn in a Castle Lager Premiership encounter, the gifted midfielder said he is not changing a thing.

He said it is business as usual for him and he confident that his team’s game plan will lead to victory.

“My game plan doesn’t change, I approach each game the same way I approach others and I always try to do basic stuff and the rest will fall into place”, said the Chicken Inn wizard.

In a season that’s been packed with opportunities, Ginimbi has 8 starts and 7 appearances off the bench, racking up 2 goals in the process. His tally includes a crucial goal in the league and a stunner in the Chibuku Super Cup group stages.

Mutungamiri added a layer of intrigue to the derby, saying he is likely to face off, in an epic battle for control of the center of park, against a former teammate Elshamary Farasi who is also a shining star for Highlanders FC.

With a history of shared successes and mutual respect, this clash promises to be an emotional rollercoaster, with both players eager to prove their worth against each other.

“Elshamary Farasi will be my rival for the game as we played together last season, he knows my game pretty well so I am sure it will be very intense to play against him.”

Genius and Farasi played for the now defunct BCC last season and they had a formidable partnership, with Mutungamiri scoring 4 goals.

The player is rallying the troops, urging fans to turn up in droves and create an atmosphere that’ll put the “fear of God” into the opposition.

With a promise of a barnstormer of a match, he called on fans to bring their A-game, their voices, and their energy, and to help create a cauldron of noise that will give the Gamecocks the edge.
