Geo Pomona wins award for sustainable solutions

Geo Pomona Waste Management (Pvt) Limited has won an environmental award for its efforts in long-term and sustainable environmental solutions through innovative technology which is creating waste-to-energy plants.

The company recently commissioned a project which seek to convert waste to energy focusing on a well-organised direction for health, safety, and the environment, benchmarking with best international practices.

These efforts have seen the company winning the Environment, Social, Governance Network Zimbabwe (ESGNZ) award to be presented at a ceremony set for this evening in the capital.

In an advisory to Geo Pomona, ESGNZ invited the company to participate in the awards ceremony. “The Environment, Social, Governance Network Zimbabwe (ESGNZ) would like to congratulate as well as to notify Geo Pomona Waste Management that it is the winner of the Sustainability Innovation Champion Award at the 2023 Zimbabwe National ESG and CSR Awards, ESGNZ applauds and appreciates your organization’s efforts in championing sustainability innovation and use of clean renewable energy in Zimbabwe.

“The 2023 Awards which are running under the theme, ESG Champions: Pioneering Sustainable Development will be held and celebrated on the 24th of November during a gala dinner at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) in Harare.

“Award winners are mobilised from the diverse sectors and industries which have created positive impact towards Zimbabwe’s sustainable development and the promotion of Government’s Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals. The awards concept document is attached together with this letter for more information including participation details,” reads part of the letter.
